2023 Holiday Luncheon

I had a blast hosting our yearly holiday luncheon with my girlfriends at Scottsdale National Golf Club

Last week, I had a blast hosting our yearly holiday luncheon with my girlfriends at Scottsdale National Golf Club. It’s become a tradition—a time to kick back, celebrate the holidays, and toast to Meg, Maude, and Lara’s December birthdays.

The dining room was all about that cozy vibe. Stepping inside, we immediately felt transported to a European chalet – almost like we had stepped through the wardrobe into Narnia. It was decked out with velvet fabric, pine and fir branches to bring a touch of outdoors inside, and the fireplace was roaring for that perfect holiday feel. Oh, and the incredible creative events team at SNGC went all out reinterpreting the 12 Days of Christmas theme. Special shoutout to Claire Hinsch, VP of Events, who is an absolute creative genius. We are so lucky have her and enjoy her talents!

Each of the 12 Days of Christmas is represented in this room – can you spot them?

Day 1: A Partridge in a Pear Tree – brass partridges and pear topiaries

Day 2: Two Turtle Doves – tin Paloma ornaments from Oaxaca hanging in the Christmas tree

Day 3: Three French Hens – feathers used to build the swans nest

Day 4: Four Calling Birds – place setting

Day 5: Five golden rings – incorporated in swan’s nest

Day 6: Six Geese A-laying – caviar amuse bouche served in an egg shell

Day 7: Seven Swans A-swimming – swan centerpiece

Day 8: Eight Maids A-milking – Swedish cow bells

Day 9: Nine Ladies Dancing – brass ballet slippers

Day 10: 10 Lords A-leaping – vintage brass top hats used as champagne buckets

Day 11: 11 Pipers Piping – wooden pipes/flutes used to build swan’s nest

Day 12: 12 Drummers Drumming – snare drum vases for used burgundy peonies

I decided to stay on theme with my gifts this year and gave my girlfriends ornaments from the Mackenzie-Childs 12 Days Set. They were adorable! We couldn’t resist singing the “12 Days” song as we opened them—such a fun moment.

And let’s not forget the cakes! Maude wanted black & white, Meg picked angel food, and Lara went for butter cake. They were delicious and perfectly decorated to fit into the holiday theme.

We laughed, caught up on life, and simply enjoyed each other’s company. It was a blast bringing the 12 days of Christmas to life with these amazing women. Can’t wait for next year!

Cheers,

Renee
