A Blast from the Past

Celebrating my birthday with a bit of inspiration from the past, disco style.

Last week, I celebrated my birthday among close friends. I made it extra festive with a party favorite – disco balls! You could find disco balls everywhere, covering the tables, lining our dance floor, and accenting the tablescape, sending beams of light bouncing around the room. I incorporated elegant touches of gold and monochromatic white floral arrangements accented by pampas grass. I love mixing textures.

Elegantly set table with assorted glassware and dishes, white flowers, and 20 disco balls hanging in background.

Dinner began with a few stellar starters including Foie Gras, Kampachi Crudo, and Peaches with Goat Cheese. Entrées consisted of Guinea Hen, Opakapaka, and a Big Island Filet Mignon accompanied by Broccolini, Brussels Sprouts, and Mashed Potatoes. We finished the meal with a spectacular two-tiered birthday cake topped with sparkling disco balls in two flavors – carrot and red velvet.

Throughout the night, my friends and I had so much fun posing in a vintage Volkswagen Bus that had been converted into a photo booth. I love the photos we got together – such great memories!

Finally, it was time to hit the dance floor. We danced the night away to a set by DJ Rowshay, who flowed effortlessly between hits from yesterday and today.

Thank you to my friends and family for making my birthday so special. It was truly a night to remember!
