Celebrating the Brilliance of Tomorrow’s Leaders: The 2025 Renee Parsons Scholarship Awards

Every year, I am inspired by the passion and determination of young women across the many branches of Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley who apply for the Renee Parsons Girls Leadership and Excellence Awards. Each young woman is extraordinary in her own right and reminds me of my “why” in creating a girls’ scholarship program through The Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation.

This year, I am proud to recognize two exceptional young women who embody what it means to lead through the qualities of collaboration, assertiveness, and empathy, while also being outstanding students and community members. These extraordinary girls are not just dreaming about their futures—they’re actively building them, bit by bit, with courage and tenacity. It is my great joy and honor to help support their growth and academic journeys.

Sophia – 2025 Renee Parsons Girls Leadership Award (up to $80,000)

Sophia is a force. Whether she’s leading on the soccer field or standing tall in her community, she exemplifies everything the Renee Parsons Girls Leadership Award stands for. Her dream to play collegiate soccer and pursue a career in sports medicine speaks to both her athletic spirit and her desire to make a tangible difference in others’ lives. She understands that leadership isn’t about being the loudest voice in the room—it’s about using your platform to uplift those around you. Sophia’s grace, focus, and drive leave me with no doubt that she will accomplish incredible things.

Sttarletta – 2025 Renee Parsons Girls Excellence Award (up to $40,000)

Sttarletta’s application showcased her quiet strength and depth of vision. A gifted storyteller and aspiring medical professional, she is already weaving together two powerful callings: the science of healing and the art of expression. She dreams of pursuing higher education in the medical field and is also working toward publishing her first novel—a beautiful testament to her intellect and creativity. The Renee Parsons Awards celebrate young women who embody motivation and the relentless pursuit of their goals. Sttarletta is the very definition of that excellence.

These scholarships are more than just financial support—they’re a vote of confidence in what these young women will become. I believe deeply in investing in potential, especially when it is as clear and compelling as it is in Sophia and Sttarletta.
