Dinner in Paradise
Aloha from Hawaii!!
One of my favorite parts of being here is hosting and entertaining family and friends. For my latest dinner party, I decided to go with a modern tropical theme and thought I’d share it with all you!
The Setting
When setting the table, I looked to the natural Hawaiian landscape for inspiration. Using the light wood dining table as a base, I complemented the setting with a natural straw placemat by Johanna Ortiz, one of my favorite fashion designers! I incorporated cream, seafoam green, hints of gold, and simple white floral arrangements to bring in a tropical but chic vibe.
For a touch of fun and playfulness, sea urchin inspired napkin rings and agate name cards helped establish contrast to the neutral palette and tie the whole look together.
The Location
When on island, I take any chance I get to enjoy the beautiful weather and dine outdoors – this evening was no exception.
A tropical breeze surrounded us as we looked out to lush mountains and the bright blue ocean. A colorful sunset of pink, purple, and orange painted the sky as we began our meal, setting the mood for an intimate dining experience.
After the sun went down, we enjoyed dinner by soft candlelight – perfect for unwinding with close friends and a glass of wine.
The result? An unforgettable evening with friends in paradise! Until next time, aloha!
