Holiday in Paradise

Aloha! 
 
After weeks of anticipation, I have finally returned to our home away from home for a vacation filled with golf, relaxation, and cherished moments with my loved ones.

One of the highlights of my Hawaiian escape is indulging in my passion for golf. The Big Island offers an array of breathtaking courses that blend seamlessly with the natural wonders of Big Island. When I step onto the emerald-green fairways, the majestic ocean vistas and lush volcanic landscapes remind me of the inherent connection between nature and the sport I love. 
 
A few days ago, I had the pleasure of celebrating a quiet 4th of July with my husband, Bob, and a couple family members. We spent the day enjoying each other’s company and taking in the tropical scenery. Even the girls got into the patriotic spirit sporting red, white, and blue bandanas and tutus, their wagging tails adding to the festive ambiance.

What’s the 4th of July without American Barbecue favorites? Baby back ribs and smoked chicken were on the menu for dinner and their tantalizing aromas filled the air as they were being prepared. My mouth is watering just thinking about it! We went all in on the American fare and paired our entrées with coleslaw, mashed potatoes, and baked beans. The meal had a delicious finale of warm apple pie topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream – the perfect 4th of July treat.

I’m looking forward to spending time with my friends on the island and those who will visit me from the mainland. For now, you can catch me lounging by the pool, margarita in hand.
