There’s something particularly refreshing about the warm feelings a fiesta inspires. Pops of color sprinkle the room, savory sips and flavorful dishes fill the table as family and friends join to enjoy an evening together. As we begin to return to some form of normalcy and look ahead to what the remainder of 2021 has in store, I wanted to share a few tips from past parties we’ve held to help elevate your fiesta experience.

Pop of Color!

Adding color in creative ways is a great way to make any party feel vibrant and upbeat. I designed this tablescape to include flowers, succulents, and cacti, and utilized brightly colored foods as decoration. The dishes of red chilis, papayas, limes, and avocados help to add an unexpected liveliness to the table. To take it up a notch, slice some of the fruits and vegetables in half. You can use part to cook with, and the other portion as décor!

‘Set’ the Mood, and the Table

Playful place settings can help generate a positive, energetic vibe, before guests even sit down. Tealight candles positioned throughout the table also help create an intimate, warm mood.

A Signature Sip

 Whenever hosting, I always enjoy crafting a signature cocktail that aligns with the theme of the event. For our most recent Fiesta party, I offered one of my favorites, the RP Skinny Margarita, a cocktail also featured on the menu at Scottsdale National’s Mustang Grill. Here, we’ve added a lime wheel covered with white sea salt flakes and a lemon wheel dusted with chili lime salt.

 

RP Skinny Margarita

2oz – Gran Patron Platinum Tequila

1 1/2oz – Acqua Panna Water

1/4oz – Lemon Juice

1/4oz – Lime Juice

 

Method: Combine all ingredients in shaker tin and shake vigorously for 30 seconds, strain contents over ice in a rocks glass and serve.
