Pack PXG: A Getaway Guide
Spring is here, and I don’t know about you, but I’ve been buzzing with energy these last few weeks. I admit, we are fortunate in Arizona to enjoy sunshine all year round – and I’ve savored every moment I’ve had at Scottsdale National – but not even a leisurely day on the links replaces the quality time so many of us have missed this year with our loved ones. A fresh season and a renewed lightness in the air has me excited to soon reunite with friends and family members after what feels like forever. I’m someone whose luggage is never fully stored away, because I usually have a next leg of travel soon ahead. This past year, like many of you however, my suitcases remained on the shelves while I was working and staying safe in Arizona.
I’m a natural optimist, and my motto is that even the toughest days produce takeaways. The brightest silver lining that emerged from the abnormalities of 2020 was the dream team I put in place for PXG Apparel; a group of talented, driven manufacturing professionals; each at the top of his or her game. The space and time that presented itself to me last year was truly a gift. Amidst the uncertainties – of which there were many – I found clarity in stillness, recrystallized the original vision and purpose of my business and recruited the creative and design support whose manufacturing and retail experience will help us produce the best product on this market. Bar none.
When I took the reins as the head of PXG Apparel in 2018, I dove in head-first with passion and too many ideas to count. However, even with total command of the dream I was realizing as a designer, there’s an unmistakable learning curve with anything new – and of course that includes building an apparel line. It’s true that the vision wasn’t always perfectly in sync with our process at first. What kept gnawing at me? As my father always said: hire smarter and better than you. Surround yourself with the best talent that your resources and structure can withstand, because you’re only as good as the company you keep. Well guess what – thanks to the pandemic, 13 women and men, now a part of the PXG Apparel family, are already changing the landscape of performance-wear in golf and beyond.
Spring and summer are seasons of togetherness, of rediscovery, and this year, particularly, reunions. The doors are reopening to our cherished restaurants, local businesses and favorite hotels all over the world. It could be that you’re seeing your parents, siblings, nieces or even your best friend for the first time in person in a year. Whether you’re boarding a plane or packing up the car, PXG Apparel has you covered. For the beyond.
Back to those suitcases still sitting in your storage closet…what do you say we dust them off? Let us do the work for you. Our Spring Summer pieces are made to mix and match with comfort, simplicity and style – taking you simply anywhere along the way. Nothing would thrill us more than to be a small part of these very special reunions and rediscoveries (perhaps of the golf course!) this season.
I’m thrilled to present four must-packs for any weekend getaway, brought to you by the PXG Apparel team.
Lindsey Nowak, Communications Director – Apparel
“These are the essential getaway item. Great to wear while traveling, super chic, and comfortable, I love wearing them on the plane or on long car rides. Not limited to travel, I also put them on for morning walks with my family on the beach or grabbing a coffee while catching up with friends.”
“I love how transitional this top is! It’s perfect for the playing golf and also looks great paired with a skirt, jacket, cute sneakers or booties, and a fabulous bag. It’s so versatile and all of the three different colorways are perfect for any GNO.”
Lindsay Fasso, Vice President – Apparel
“Lightweight, and exceptionally comfortable, the plush hoodie compactly packs away into your carry-on bag. Perfect for working out, chilly plane rides, or day-to-day wear, this multi-faceted piece is ready to go for any moment.”
“Comfort and versatility are both staple design elements in the PXG line, and the Logo Tape Skirt is no exception. With dual-stash pockets, and built in biker shorts, this elegant, all-around piece is ideal for a day on the course, or a night on the town.”
