Philanthropy Focus – Semper Fi & America’s Fund Double Down for Veterans
Happy December, all! If you’re familiar with Bob’s and my philanthropy, you’ll know that the holiday season means so much more to us than cooler temperatures and putting up the Christmas tree (even though we all know I love some fab décor). This winter marks our 12th year of partnering with Semper Fi & America’s Fund (The Fund) on the Double Down for Veterans campaign. Through the end of the year, The Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation, with support from PXG, will be matching donations to The Fund dollar-for-dollar up to $10 million. This year is especially significant in our longstanding partnership because, if met, the match will bring our total support of The Fund to $100 million. The Fund was founded almost 20 years ago to care for our nation’s critically wounded, ill, and injured service members, veterans, and military families through a variety of compassionate and consistent services including, but not limited to case management, financial support, education and career assistance, and wellness programs. Next to its exemplary services, what really sets The Fund apart is its long-term commitment to veterans and their families. As many veterans battle lifelong effects – physical, mental, and emotional – of combat-related injuries or illnesses, The Fund is there for lifelong support. Through the highs and lows, the good and the bad – veterans can count on The Fund for a lifetime.
The Fund’s mission fits so well into Bob’s and my vision for philanthropic giving, which I’m sure will come as no surprise. A lesser known, but just as beautiful synergy is that it is also complimentary to the core values of our companies. The PXG for Heroes program is just one such example of our commitment to honoring former and current military members by outfitting them in the world’s finest golf equipment and apparel. The PXG Heroes Squad (our PXG for Heroes brand ambassadors) not only rock PXG gear on and off the course, but many of them are also beneficiaries of The Fund’s services. Full circle moment right there!
