Dilly Bread


1 Package Dry Yeast

2 Tbsp Sugar

¼ Cup Warm Water

1 Cup Cottage Cheese

1 Tbsp Butter

1 Tsp Dill Seed

1 Tsp Dill Weed

1 Tbsp Minced Onion

1 Tsp Salt

1 Unbeaten Egg

¼ tsp Baking Soda

2-2 ¼ Cups Flour


  • Dissolve Dry Yeast in Warm Water; Add Sugar & Mix; Set Aside
  • Heat Cottage Cheese to lukewarm and add butter, dill seed, minced onion, salt, egg, flour, and baking soda. Mix thoroughly
  • Add Yeast Mixture 
  • Knead for 5 Minutes
  • Place kneaded dough in to greased bowl and let rise until doubled in size, Punch down.
  • Place dough in greased 2-quart casserole dish and let rise
  • Bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes, and brush top with butter
