Team Rubicon Salute to Service Gala

Happy November and Happy Veterans Day! To those who have served, thank you for your sacrifice and dedication to our country.

To kick off this month, Bob and I had the incredible honor to attend Team Rubicon’s Annual Salute to Service Gala in New York City, where we were recognized as their 2023 Commitment to Service Awardees – highlighting our 6-plus year partnership with the organization through both The Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation and PXG, most recently to support relief efforts on Maui in the wake of devastating wildfires.

This award means so much to us, as Team Rubicon’s unparalleled veteran-led workforce not only sets the tone for global humanitarian aid, but also creates purpose and healing for our nation’s veterans who serve as Greyshirt volunteers.

One of Team Rubicon’s taglines reads “Once a service member. Always of service.” Bob and I couldn’t agree more with this statement. The comradery and unity that Greyshirts experience is a gift to those who choose to take on this highly demanding and rigorous level of volunteerism. To be of service to the community in such an impactful way gives Greyshirt volunteers a deep sense of purpose, one that is often hard to find again after leaving military service and returning to civilian life. The skills that veterans bring to the Greyshirt volunteer force are invaluable – these highly skilled men and women already know how to think clearly under extreme pressure, act strategically, and lead others to achieve the desired outcomes of an operation. These are the exact individuals Team Rubicon and the communities devastated by natural disasters need before, during, and after crises. 

The cherry on top of this “operation” themed event, was getting to celebrate with beloved family, friends, colleagues, and fellow Team Rubicon supporters – the gathering was just outright fun!

On peoples’ worst days, Team Rubicon shows up. It was incredible to see the community show up for Team Rubicon.  It was truly a night to remember for a transformative cause – thank you Team Rubicon!
