Texas Travels

I recently got to show my inner cowgirl on a weekend trip to Texas. My friend, Jolene, and her daughter, Jessica, were so sweet to invite my friend Cindy and me to join their Mom’s Weekend at TCU!
The four of us began the weekend by meeting up for cocktails in the lobby bar at Hotel Drover– a lively scene with rustic charm. We then ventured to Gemelle for an Italian dinner and garden patio vibes, where we got to catch up with Jessica and hear how the semester has been going. Next up: the Stockyards in Ft. Worth for the rodeo! I’d never experienced an indoor rodeo – they know how to put on a show there! We topped off the night by watching locals sing their hearts out at Poop Deck Bar & Grill’s karaoke.

On Saturday, we made our way into Dallas for some retail therapy at Highland Park Village, and the experience didn’t disappoint. That night, we enjoyed dinner back in Ft. Worth, where I tried rattlesnake and kangaroo for the first time! (The kangaroo was surprisingly delicious.) Then it was off to Second Rodeo Brewing for live music and dancing. We had a blast!
On Sunday, following brunch, we got in a bit more retail therapy and visited Lucchese, where I found the perfect cowboy boots to commemorate my time in Ft. Worth!

So grateful to experience this with my girls and to shower Jessica with some extra love and attention while she keeps up her hard work!
Xx
