Why we founded The Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation

My husband Bob and I founded The Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation, TBRPF, to support causes often overlooked by mainstream philanthropy. We wanted to create a foundation guided by our own personal experiences, values and beliefs.

The foundation’s tagline is We Deal in Hope.

Before TBRPF existed, Bob and I personally donated to emergency relief in Haiti, immediately after a catastrophic earthquake devastated the country.

It’s why when we started our foundation, that cause was close to our hearts.

Our subsequent grant to Hope for Haiti in early 2012 marked the first donation ever given through the foundation.

Bob and I have traveled to Haiti three times to see Hope for Haiti’s growth and ever-increasing impact. The trips are unforgettable. The people of Haiti have a tremendous need for education and medical support and our donations went to building hospitals and schools.

What I saw there and the stories I heard, definitively confirmed for me that philanthropy is a piece of my purpose in this world.

The foundation continues to donate to Haiti today, along with an expanded list of more than 200 grant recipients.

The foundation supports vulnerable populations, with a focus on homelessness, health, education, youth, military families and veterans to further the promise of the American Dream.

While we continue to identify new grant recipients every year, our mission never wavers. We deal in hope.
