Wild West Invitational 2025 – Year of the Snake

Every year, the challenge is the same: make this tournament better than the last. At Scottsdale National, we delivered. The Wild West Invitational has become a defining tradition – a showcase of golf, hospitality, and style – and 2025’s theme, Year of the Snake, set a new benchmark.
PXG House and Mustang Grill were unrecognizable – lanterns in every direction, bonsai trees of all sizes, every floral arrangement and seating detail tied seamlessly into the next. Custom photo backdrops, an old-fashioned telephone booth, and curated shadow boxes ensured no corner was missed. A custom snake sculpture greeted guests at the front entry, its body weaving through ceiling beams and exiting out the back door until its tail wrapped around one of our DJ booths – Saturday night’s snake-shaped ice luge was a great accompaniment. Outside, the property looked like a fusion of temples, palaces, and pagodas – everywhere you turned, there was more to admire.

Saturday opened with practice rounds and a welcome ceremony featuring a lion dance performance by Golden Phoenix Lion Dance Arts and Athletic Association. I introduced Jenna Blake and Elyse Walker before guests explored the pop-up shop. Dinner was Chinese-inspired – dim sum carts, custom fortune cookies, and that snake ice luge – with DJ Lucy Wrubel setting the tone.

Sunday brought two rounds of golf, French fusion lunch at PXG House, and a putting contest with Labubu giveaways dressed in custom SNGC outfits and mini golf clubs for each member. Dinner shifted to Japanese-Portuguese fusion with sake carts and omikuji fortunes, followed by karaoke with DJs Rowshay and LOMO. Highlights? My friends and I performing Low by Flo Rida and When the Wine Runs Out by Role Model. Then came a member’s rewrite of The House That Built Me by Miranda Lambert – retitled The Round That Killed Me – which was such a hit she later performed it with Miranda Lambert during the Men’s Invitational. The night closed with Miranda herself taking the mic for Gunpowder & Lead.

Monday delivered the finale: the last round on Mine Shaft Course and the infamous Stampede – a roaming party across three holes with drinks and DJs following us as scores finalized. The Stampede concluded at Hole 15, where winners were sprayed with bottles of Dom – as is tradition! Dinner closed with Italian fusion and a private Tim McGraw performance – the perfect ending to a weekend that blends sport, style, and spectacle.

A special thank you to our event visionary, Claire Hinsch, whose ideas and execution made this transformation possible, as well as Kristin Newman, Robert Reeves, Shaun Adams, Keisha Bergan, Mel Mecinas, and the entire SNGC staff who continue to deliver year after year for our members.
Congratulations to our 2025 Ladies’ and Men’s Wild West Tournament Champions, the flight winners, and especially to the women who picked up a club for the first time. PXG looked incredible on every fairway, proving golf fashion can be bold and functional.

The Men’s Wild West Invitational followed with its own finale headlined by Miranda Lambert. Scottsdale National continues to raise the bar – and next year, we’ll aim even higher.
Xx,
